Nale Lehmann-Willenbrock is Chair of Industrial and Organizational at the University of Hamburg, Germany, where she also leads the Center for Better Work, a transfer center for bringing research insights into organizational practice. She currently also serves as Associate Editor for the Journal of Business and Psychology as well as Small Group Research. Previously, she spent several years at the University of Amsterdam and Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
She is intrigued by the fine-grained behavioral patterns inside that link meetings to individual, team, and organizational functioning. Her research on social interaction dynamics in meetings, in teams, and between leaders and followers has been published in top-tier academic outlets, with more than 100 journal articles and book chapters to date. She has edited two books and a special issue on the science of workplace meetings, together with Joe Allen. She regularly speaks and consults for organizations about meetings as a leadership challenge and organizational change initiatives in the scope of New Work.
